CLASS HISTORY While seated one day my mind began to wander and passed over the years we spent at Monticello High School® The dimmest recollection I have Is when we reached the mature age of six and began our first year at school. Miss Annie Coleman greeted us at the door and introduced us to our school life We passed on to our second year whore we were taught by Mrs, Essie Turner and we began to feel that education was very important to a successful life In the third grade we were taught by Mrs® McWhirter; in the fourth, by Miss Glenn, and In the fifth by Miss Betty Coleman, Our first experience with a man teacher was in the sixth grade with Mr Hlott® From there vie went to the iseventh grade where we met Miss Sarah Coleman and prepared for high school. Then, we entered high school as grown and mature individuals, Mr, Powell then took us and we passed on to the ninth grade. There Miss Buzhardt met us and guided us throu the ninth and tenth grades® Then we became dignified Seniors in the class of 1946, We had dwindled our thirty-two students to a small number of twelve. The members of oiir class are; Grace Blair, Buddy Barbee, Annie Penrle Cromer, Allen Graham, Allene Graham-, Dennis Florence, ary Jo Ladd, George Wilkes, Ann Miller, George Yongue, Annie Laura Lindler, and William Ramey Out of the number, all but Dennis Florence and HISTORIAN; Annie Pearle Cromer
