Si., wa. fc- .'Stuj -S': Bfiioly Within each girl is the power to recognize and appreciate the beauty of everyday experiences. Life is filled with beauty if one is sensitive to it and eager to find it—if one's eyes are trained to sec, one's ears to hear, one's heart to understand, and one's mind to remember. Dei-: Rumsfeld The Seven Ideals of Monticello The seven girls pictured on these pages have been chosen from the class of '53 by the vote of their classmates to represent the seven ideals of Monlicello. Outstanding members of their class in many ways, these girls were chosen to personify the ideal which is most typical of their personality. IL Loyalty One of the most important of the Monticello Ideals is a deep-seated loyalty to the college, one's friends, one's family and one's own beliefs. This deep-seated emotion will grow through understanding, respect and love. Sally Six Suzanne Graham Democracy The truly democratic person interests herself in the activities of others. She seeks to understand and respect the ideals and beliefs of her associates while maintaining her own independence ol thought and action. Service 1‘ ach of us has a distinctive personality and unique talents. The Monticcllo girl considers it not only a privilege hut a responsibility to share her gifts with all, thereby helping herself and others to develop to the fullest measure.
