S. marching band started off the season by marching at the openinf of the underpass in Fostoria. They also performed many clever routines at each home football game and also at two games away from home. At Christmas time the chorus showed un in fine style. The eighty-five voice choir gave a thirty minute broadcast over W F O B. They also gave a Christmas program at the high school. The band played at the January P. T. A. meeting, and the choir sang at the April P. T. A. meeting. Several members of both the band and choir did solo and ensemble work at the District Solo and Ensemble Contest at Bowling Green State University in March. They did very well and came back with very good ratings. On March 25 the annual Wood County Music Festival was held at Bowling Green State University. Several members of both the choir and the band participated in the mass choirs and band. The annual high school operetta was presented in April. It was Ask the Professor and was given by the high school choir The Spring Concert was held on Sunday afternoon at the high school. Both the band-and choir participated. The choir rendered several numbers at the Baccalaureate service. The M. L. H. S. students can be very proud of their fine music department and its very capable director, Mrs. Sockrider.
