Some of the major subiects studied by students in Mr. Horace Le- lands physics classes are electronics, sound, light, heat, electricity, and nu- clear physics. An essential part ol train- ing in physics is the development of an alert, inquiring mind and a ready hand, The students learn how to go about solv- ing a problem or about making some- thing that worlcs. They learn to apply the principles of mathematics. At left, Dick Northey, Howard Duncan, and Ed Harper, senior students in Mr. Gene Eastin's second year French class, are finishing a unit on Excursion Through French Civilization-Landmarks of the Past. This unit in French is given by lec- ture by Mr. Eastin himself. Another aspect of the course is familiarization with basic conversational French, through reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
