RETIRING SENIORS Randall Morris—Drum major Tammy Wamock—Majorette Gave It Up Turned It Loose We Gathered At The Courthouse Square HOMECOMING EXCITEMENT 85 Homecoming was a great event here at MCHS. All the classes competed for the best float. HOMECOMING QUEENS Jackie Blocker Sabrina Henry AND SENIOR REPRESENTATIVES Beverlv Bell Shelia Joyce The Court Homecoming 77 was under the direction of the cheerleaders during the week of November 8. In addition to the traditional parade and crowning of the queen, an activity was planned for each day to help build spirit and support at good ol’ MCHS. The week started out with a bang by the selling of spirit juice and courage cookies. Tuesday at recess, a pep rally was held with the class Presidents having a bubblegum contest and chugging coke out of a baby bottle. Wednesday was ’50’s day, and everyone had fun dancing or watching people dance to the music of the ’50‘s. Additionally, on Thursday each class worked really hard decorating the halls. The freshmen must have really had the spirit because thev won that contest. Thursday’s activities included pom-pom routines at recess and the annual fconfire that night. All these events set the spirit for the largest Homecoming Parade ever at Montgomery County. The climax of the week s events was the pre-game Homecoming festivities which featured the band, majorettes and cheerleaders and, of course, the Homecoming Court. Representing the freshmen class were Beverly Terrell and Kay Geiger. Tracy McCaw and Myrtle Smiley represented the sophomore class. Phyllis Love and Lisa Lowe were the Junior representatives. The senior representatives were Jackie Blocker, Sabrina Henry, Shelia Joyce and Beverly Bell. The suspense of the week was broken with the announcement of the two queens for 1977 Homecoming who were Jackie Blocker and Sabrina Henry, who were crowned by last year’s Queens—Miss Gail Brooker and Miss Carol Moxley. Yes, Homecoming was the most exciting and enchancing time of the school vear. 89 1976-77 FOOTBALL TEAM Bottom Row: Jay Coursey, Ricky Barlow, Kevin McAllister, Allen Whitaker, Danny Wells, Rusty Bates, 2nd Row: Jimmy Higgs, David Geiger, Ricky Jarriel, Mark McKie, Bryon Braddy, Howard Thigpen, Stantley Fields, 3rd Row: Charles McDonald, Randy Collins, Clay Wamock, Robert Corouthers, John McArthur, Barry Pierce, Top Row: Hugh O’Neal, Earnest McClain, Danny Fountain, Eric Moxley. 90 This year’s football season was not too successful, but the fellows tried. We have the finest faculty and student body that can be found anywhere, and I know that in working to- gether as administrators, teachers, parents, and students that this will be true in years to come. Especially, I would like to thank the Eagle staff for an excellent job. This is another example of good work accomplished by fine students and advisors. We, in administration, will always be proud to recognize this Eagle staff as being amidst our fine graduates. Marilyn Wooten, Secretary to the Superintendent 129 PRINCIPALS FACULTY DEDICATION Appreciation, compliments, and honors are sometimes expressed when one is un- able to hear or read them. The annual staff wanted to acknowledge and attribute these values before they are added to a chronicle. We had the difficult task of de- ciding to which member of our dedicated faculty to dedicate our book. After many pondering sessions we decided to pay trib- ute to one whose guidance, support, devo- tion and service have been a constant in- spiration and encouragement, and whose memory the class of ’77 will always cher- ish with unfailing love, deepest apprecia- tion and most sincere gratitude. To you, Mr. Rufus Dean Hodges, we dedi- cate Reflections ’77. Remember? Do you remember “The Times of Your Life”?
