Key Club. Always behind us with encouragement, counsel, and knowledge, the Administration served as the backbone of school transactions. Checking Attendance, verifying an- nouncements, and supervising office affairs were only a few of their many tasks. Working hand in hand with the student council resulted in a student-administration re- lationship that greatly benefited Blair. The official duty of the counselors was to serve as co-ordinators between students, teachers, and parents, and to assist in special outside services. They guided us in our selection of courses, made suggestions as to which subjects would best fit into our future plans, and made follow-up surveys after our graduation. They Paved the Way LUCILE D. Under the excellent leadership of Dick Niner, Bob Anastasi, Cary Thompson, and Susan Allaway, Blair's Student Council complished a year of activity and progress which we will recall with satisfaction for many years to come. Learning to be Leaders The Student Council had several main projects for the year. They accepted the presidency of the Mary- land Association of Student Councils and made prep- aration for next year's Convention which will be held here at Blair. Bill Stewart was elected president. Blair designed the tate Student Council pin. ac- Each symbol on the new Council vA0NTGoMfQY pin bore a definite significance. The B'-'VR 0 balance represented justice: the 516 1 V staff stood for leadership, and the ' scroll symbolized knowledge. C559 Work for better relations with the community was carried on with the Silver Spring Board of Trade. A Student Council delegate also attended the execu- tive meeting of the P.T.A. in order to maintain closer relationship between the parents, teachers. and stu- dents.
