BILL MORE AND NED GUMMELg Jack Bruce and Jay Dawson, Neil Hillerman and Robin Bauer, Don Led- ford and John Lange, accompanied by Clarke Foulke, rehearsed the opening number of the Variety Show. The latter half of the year brought with it the production all the school awaited -- the Variety Show. Students from all three clases, as well as faculty members, presented their talents in this gay revue. The Sadie Hawkins spirit in Blair femininity was given a chance to bloom at the Vice-Versa. Males, protesting and otherwise, were escorted by the girls, bearing up under their weird corsages. The Sweater Dance boasted of 'woolies' of every size, color and description, and Steadies wore sweaters which were alike. Blair's own dance band played for this event. All this gaity, however, brought nearer the day of graduation. What senior could help but feel a little sad at the thought of leaving hisschool, and the remembrance that those days would soon be gone but not forgotten. Blair's place in the field of education wasa cherished one, the continuance of which was the duty and privilege of the faculty. The myriad of courses had to be met by a variety of instructors in every field. The larger enroll- ment caused new problems. Another building arose on what used tobethe old parking lot, pro- viding the school with a five-building campus. The increase in classes brought forth a need for more teachers. The sections left no spare room in the school, to the dismay of some space-hungry or- ganizations. Classes of every size and description were the order of the day. Maps, Bunsen bumers, add- ing machines, and the ever present books were stan- dard equipment. The odor of formaldehyde or burning sulphur informed one of the presence of a lab, compli- cated formulas of great length were the trademark of a higher math class. The mark ofthe banking profession was put upon each member of that organization in the form of ink-stained fingers, and that of the artist by air-brush paint. Our teachers were the molders and developers of our thoughts and actions. Our display of knowledge on a job, or our future academic excellence in college was the aftermath of their training, for which we were extremely grateful.
