Dedication Since 1979, Mr. Gordon E. Bondurant has been an omnipresent force in the shaping of Montgomery Bell Academy’s destiny. He and his family have been totally dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of school life. He is present at almost every single event in the school day, from conferences early in the morning to athletics and extra-curricular events late at night and on week- ends. Mr. Bondurant always has an open door to students, parents, friends, and faculty and has greatly increased the participation of each in the decision-making process at MBA. His pursuit of excellence for MBA on both the local and national level has made him one of the hardest working people in the MBA community. The changes he has made have been profound and wide-reaching in terms of endowment, national recognition, faculty salaries and retirement, buildings and grounds, and parent and alumni relations. For all the hours, for all the love and care, the 87-88 BELL is proud to dedicate this annual to Mr. Gordon E. Bondur- ant.

THE BELL 1988 MONTGOMERY BELL ACADEMY Formally established in 1667 with a bequest of $20,000 by Ironmaster Montgomery Bell, the roots of M.B. A actually go bacK to 1765, with the University of Nashville. Cumberland College, and Davidson Academy.
