VARSITY BASKETBALL SCORES Montgomery's basketball team, hurt by a lack of height, experienced a mediocre season this year although they provided many thrills for their fans. Several times the team came close to defeating a contender for the West Branch title only to lose in the Waning minutes of the game. The members of the team are to be highly re- spected because of their never-give-up attitude which will benefit them in their future lives. Danville ,,,..... ,..,.,.. St. Ioe ..,.,.... .,...... IB HIGH FOOTBALL Montgomery's football fortunes started out on the right foot this year by soundly trouncing a Troy team which went undefeated throughout the remainder of the season. But then the roof caved in and the team suffered four straight losses. Then Montgomery was given some incentive for the remainder of the season by playing good ball against a highly-rated Bald Eagle eleven. The following week Montgomery invaded Loyalsock and came home with a sound victory. The team made a gallant fight against a strong Montoursville eleven, but size and depth prevailed and Montgomery lost. The following two weeks were happy ones for Montgomery football fans because the team trounced Mifllinburg and on their iinal game, broke the Muncy Jinx with a decisive victory and brought the Old Shoei' back to where it belongs. Two players, Kip Hall and jim Ring who were outstanding during the season were chosen to play at the annual All-Star game at Danville. jim Ring holding the Old Shoe Tro- phy won by the Red Raiders in their game against Muncy.
