The first sparks of the class of '29 started in September, 1925. They were: Audrey Barker, Vivian Adams, Mabel Marlowe, Ralph Man- waring, Sylvia Leiser, Violet Bowser, Edward Burgess, Alma Cox, Genola Bord, Earl Brad- ley, Agnes Mathas, Grace Thomas, Elsie Van Hook, Dora Van Hook, Bob Hold, Anna Cox, Evelyn Johns, Helen Reel, Louisa Woody, Ralph Cory, Carl Morris, Charles Schulte, Gerald Garrard, Bertha Gregory and Howard Daniels. Gerald was elected president, Audrey vice president, and Sylvia, secretary and treasurer. Two of these students were in the oratorical contest. They were, Agines Mathas and Evelyn Johns. Under the careful instruction of the faculty: Mrs. Irene Kingery, Mr. A. L. Vermillion, Miss Carrie Manwaring, Volney Ward, Miss Emily Haworth and Mr. Donald Reel as mas- ter of ceremonies we grew into a wiser class. This class roll was the same the second year with the exception of Violet Bowser, Bertha Gregory, Alma Cox, Edward Burgess, and Ralph Manwaring. Some of these with- draw and sctme changed to other schools. The officers this year were: Audrey Barker, pres- ident, Gerald Garrard, vice president, and Carl Morris, secretary. Evelyn Johns and Carl Morris. secretary. Mr. Reel, Mr. Ward, Mr. Vermi'lirtm, Mr. Dennis Jones, Miss Manwaring, Miss Con- suelo Clehouse and Mrs. Willard Weaver, formerly Miss Emily Haworth, enlivened the flames and made it ready for the Junior year. Then the Junior year began. That year brought us four new classmates. They were Lowell Hoqver,.Hazel Woods, Max Wheeler, and Albert Lawrence. We also lost three. They were Mabel Marlowe, Sylvia Lciser, and Low- ell Hoover, who was one of our new members. The faculty were: Mr. Reel, Mr. Ward, Mrs. Lela Clary, Rev. Vermillion, Mr. Jones Miss Elizabeth Sanford and Miss Manwarfng. Our officers that year were: president, Gerald Garrard, vice president, Audrey Barker, and secretary. Anna Cox. In Decem- ber we gave our Junior play, The Winning of Joy . This gave us much experience which was a help in giving the Senior play the next year. On March 23, following the custom which had been established several years before. we entertained the seniors and faculty at a re- ception at the King Hotel. In the year 1928 we rekind'ed the campfire of High School education.. The first semester riilllr we elected Vivian Adams, president, Albert Lawrence, vice president, and Carl Morris secretary. Our faculty this year was, Donald Reel, principal, Volney Ward, coach and mathematics, 0. M. Aders, Economics and Biology, Mrs. Lela Clary, English, Carrie Man- waring, Domestic Science, Mrs. Bessie Burton Music and Art, and Rev. A. L. Vermillion. After the Christmas vacation, We elected new officers: president, Earl Bradley, vice president, Genola Bord, and Albert Lawrence, secretary and treasurer. On the nights of Mar. 21 and 22 we presented the play, Kicked Out of College to large audiences. A week later, March 29, the Juniors enter- tained us at a banquet at the King Hote'. The Seniors have been very effecient in, helping to carry on the activities of the schofrl. Seven members: Helen Reel, Genola Bord., Carl Morris, Charles Schulte, Max Wheeler, Agnes Mathas and Vivian Adams have played in the orchestra. The Seniors in the High school chorus were: Ralph Cory, Vivian Adams, Genola Bord, Evelyn Johns, Grace Thomas, Helen Reel, Louisa Woody. Anna Cox, and Gerald Garrard, were students man- agiers for the basket ball and track teams. Our athletes were: Genola Bord. Evelyn Johns, Anna Cox. Albert Lawrence, Bob Hold, Earl Bradley, Carl Morris. Max Wheeler, Howard Danie's, and Ralph Cory. Anna Cox and Max were chiefs of the girls and bcys police forces. Dora Van Hook was Editor-in-chief of the Editorial staff and librarian in her Junior years. Helen Reel has been a yell leader for two years. We must a'so mention the Owlet club, a literary club which was conducted in our senior English class each Friday. On Sunday evening, April 21, Rev. DeGrort delivered the Baccalaureate sermon at the Presbyterian church. He was assisted by Rev. Pitzer and Rev. A. L. Vermillion. On Monday afternoon, April 22, the Class and Letter Day program was given after the community d'n- ner. We were dutifully made fun of' by the underclassmen. On Tuesday evening April 23, Rev. Cowlev delivered the Commencement address at the High school auditorium and dplomas were presented to Vivian Adams, Hazel Woods, Earl Bradley. Albert Lawrence, D'ora Van Hook Max Wheeler. Robert Ho'd. Carl Morris. llfqward Daniels. Ralph Cory. Gerald Garrard, Charles Schulte. Louisa Woody, Eve'VU 'lobes- He'ev1. Reel, Genola Bord. Anna Cox. Audrey Barker, Agnes Mathas, Elsie Van Hook. and Grace Thomas.
