American Legion winners Amy Knowles and Ricky Williams pose with runners-up Linda Sims and Craig Van Valkenburg. Thomas Brown and Maurice Reed accept football scholarships to Living- ston University. Juniors selected to Boys’ State are: B. Kornegy, M. Beers, D. Lawley, G. Har- din, T. McCary, B. Allen. Mark Hall receives the John Philip Sousa Award, and MaryJane Wyatt, the Arion award. Eleven seniors maintained an A average throughout high school.

The traditional National Honor Society Tapping took place to tap new members. The speakers for the occasion told about the four important traits needed for membership: Scholarship, Lead- ership, Character and Service. Seniors brought into the Society were Sandra Boothe, Lynn Har- per, and John Merijanian. The other sixteen were juniors.
