Swan jfzwu KATIE SCHMIDT ROLAND POUNDSTONE MRS. FLOYD PETE RASMUSSEN BIRDIE STEGALL BOB DIERICK ,fl .sap emma Zo Me flutam listablishin' ourselves as one of the most ro- . L . ps gressive groups in the past few years. we the Senior Class of 1952, leave the ex eriences of the vast t P i behind us to face problems of the future. ln the fall of 1948, we entered upon our high school careers. We managed to come through the year with flying colors, under the leadership of our devoted adviser, Mr. john Terrey, who was to keep this title until the senior year. Qur capable class oflicers: Roland Poundstone, president: Bob Ryser, vice president: julia Ann Bogdanovich, sec- retaryg Eilleen Smith, treasurer, Pete Rasmussen, stud'nt council representative, and Birdie Stegall, social representative. As we came back to school the following fall we had thankfully passed on our title of fresh- men to the incoming class and had become known as sophomores. XVe immediately swung into action by electing Carmen Riley, president: Marian Rock- well, vice presidentg Jeanne Kiliz, secretary: Dar- lene Smith, treasurer: Benny Giuhn, social repre- s'ntative. The highlight of the year occurred on March 24th. This was the date of the very successful Sophomore Hop, a barn-dance of Ginghams and jeans. A true Western feeling prevailed and all enjoyed a good time. Displaying the same enthusiasm that had made our previous years successful, we came back as upper classmen after a three months vacation. Cioverned by Jeanne Kiliz, presidentg Katie Schmidt, vice president: Donna Arnold, secrctaryg Donna West, treasurer: and Wayfne Calhoun, stu- dent council representative, we stood out in extra- curricular as well as curricular activities. The event of that year which remains most vivid in our minds is our junior Prom, with the theme, Blue Hawaii. NVe labored long hours on the dec- orations, but the success of our undertaking more than mad: up for the energy lost. an Fnurh-rn By the following fall we had reached the final step on the ladder of our high school careers. For ltadership we elected Pete Rasmussen, presi- cltntg Roland Poundstone, vice presidentg Birdie Stegall, secretaryg Barbara Mousel, treasurer, Mar- vin Manley, student council representative: and Bob Dierick, social representative. The last big social event of our high school career, The Senior Ball, took place on November 30. We chose the theme A Little Bit of Heaven and we, at least, considered the affair just that. Under Miss Savage's guidance, we presented our Senior Play. lt was enjoyed by the audience and will long be remembered by us. Throughout our high school career, we were a sports-minded group. Since our freshman year we have watched boys from our class make fine names for themselves on the gridiron, maple court, cin- ders and diamond. Climaxing their high school career, Marvin Manley and Bob Dierick were voted honorary co-captains in football: and Albert Rich- ards made honorary captain in track. Many girls turned out for G.A.C. during at least part of their sshool days. The public was aware of our dramatic abilities, also. Outstanding in this field were jim McLean, Albert Richards, Lois Vincent and Pete Rasmussen. lt is evident that we enjoy music when one real- izes that over three-fourths of the class, at one time or another, was enrolled in chorus or band or both. Nor did we neglect curricular activities. We always had a nice percentage of the class on the honor roll. not to mention the many names ap- pearing on the perfect attendance list. W'ith this record of us written in the past, we, the Class of 1952, move on to meet the future. We would like to thank our adviser Mrs. Floyd, the faculty, our parents, and all of you who have made our stay here at M.H.S. both profitable and happy. Pi-lay you not forget us. We won't forget you.
