A perfect 10 A peeping John' In 1982, a group of Freshmen entered Montello High. Like all Freshmen, we were a little confused. We had our first class meeting shortly there after. Much to our surprise, a man showed up with a funny bow tie and a mustache slightly less than Rollie Fingers. It is now four years later and time for all of us to grow up and prepare ourselves for the rest of our lives. It is time to thank those who helped us. WOW! Summa Cum Laude This man has given us more help and guidance than any class has a right to expect. He made many things we once dreamed about possible. He made our trip to Florida a reality. Mr. Borud, you taught us a lot in our four years together. You have shown us that school can be fun and you have taught us many things in your classes. We can never tell you how much we appreciate it, but we hope you will never forget us we will never forget - we will never forget you. Eileen, Steve, and Geff ran well considering they were running as individuals instead of running as a team. The season began at Poynette where our runners went up against a strong Poynette team and finished in very respectable places. The season went on and we held our own as we took on several teams from our conference. The Conference Meet did not go as well as expected due to some of the runners having illnesses. All in all, it was an enjoyable season. I'm looking forward to an even more productive 1986. Then comes along this pain. Half the boys are late it seems. They've got a baseball game! It's hard to plan a trip like this With some kids never knowin! If grades or other foolishness Might stop a few from goin'. At any rate, two hours late With thanks and last good-byes To moms and dads who never had What we've got their whole lives. With no more fuss we board the bus. Good-by Montello town. We bid adieu to cold spring dew We lucky southern bound. Joy and laughter fill the air. Good times are straight ahead. The engine drones, we fall asleep. Hey Greyhound, where's my bed? Our bellies tell us morning's near, We re hungry as a bear. Were ere we go we've plenty room By now we re smellin' rare. Nashville behind, Georgia in line, We like this southern air. Cooped up like this is not all bliss. And tempers start to flare. But here we learn why Vince has spurned His drivers license test. A kiddie cart was his first start Which he soon put to rest. Now our first pool to keep us cool Would surely some entice. But out they came, never the same. The water was like ice! We left Perry no less weary The next day about nine. To Kissimmee with spirits free. The subject just seems fine! We enter town and look around And much to our surprise We re all amazed as we all gaze. We're welcomed with a sign. But here at last we learn aghast Of Sveum's special touch. He's got a treat, a private suite! We think it's a bit much. sunbur For months wo ve yearned for a And here is our first chance Boomboxes blare and fill the air And what a place to dance! Disney World js our next stop, A place that's hard to beat. But Chad goes round saying do what? It's probably the heat. Bill and Ron were having fun With wheel chairs in the act. They really kept us all in stitches. There was nothing that they lacked. Mickey Mouse and Minnie too. Goofy and lots more, Epcot center the third day; Our feet were getting sore. Anne and Wendy decide by now They're in a touring mood. Who better on a hurried tour Than fast talking John Borud? Parties abound with special sound Plus adournments in the rooms. The boys are decorating with Female fruits of loom! St. Augustine, our next stop. Three days of sun and food. The only thing that didn't sunburn Was mustachioed Borud. Sveum said now be prepared This hotel is so run down. And that's where he would start to bet At each and every town. We all thought back to English one When we forced all those laughs At his dumb jokes and sour face And what we thought were gaffs. And now he wants to bet us all. Each and everyone. ''Villanova o'er Georgetown ! I'm giving two to one. I guess we've got a lot to learn We must be pretty dumb. Sveum only bets when he Has us beneath his thumb. But when you think about all this This seems to be his turf. Where else could we expect to learn How to body surf? Bout the last day at Marineland Bay Watching the waves come in Vince and Kirsten somehow were missin'. They were pettin' dolphins? Well anyway about the last day The one we all were dreading Came sooner than we ever thought And so now we'd change our heading. We headed north and rode all night. St. Louis our next stop. When we got there we rode the arch Straight up to the top. The only one dissatisfied Was Boyd Schwartz with St. Louis. No McD's in an arch like this? Do they know what this does to us? At any race the trip was great. Over all too soon. One more pizza party left And home at least by noon. But now we hear that next years trip Just might get the axe. Course they don't have a Paul or John Or witty of Weatherwax. To you three and your wives we say Thanks so very much. Twas quite a challenge to keep us all From getting into dutch.
