Big Catch!!! What a Sweetie! Just Hitched! Mr. Weatherwax, thank you for all your help through these four years. You have guided us at meetings and helped plan our many events. You helped us with floats and dances-with your wife always there. It's really nice to know that you care, and we appreciate all you've done for us! 4 The words of that famous song kept ring- ing in my ears after I found out that I was actually going to go to India as Rotary Ex- change Student. I was leaving on a jet plane. I spent one year of my life in a country that I really didn't know about. When I got on that plane I closed off my life here in the United States and looked forward to an exciting and challenging stay in India. Well, I got all the excitement I wanted and more. While there, I learned so much about the country and its peoples. I got to stay with Indian host families, attend school, and whenever I could, I would go on trips around India. During this year I met so many wonderful people, experienced so many things that I would just like to say thank you. Rotary for giving me the op- portunity and thank you India for showing me the best year of my life! 5 6 7 SENIORS Look Katie Sandy Dave B. Dawn C. Allan Dina Karen Steve 10 At Us Then ... We thought of giving one performance using the word diar- rhea somewhere in every line, but we gave it up as another runaway idea. Perhaps our greatest achievement was giving MFS the acceptable curse 'you gunky We also discovered Drew can't drive a van, and Matt does trick bike riding. We learned to eat prisoner-of-war birthday cake — regardless of HOW gaggy it was. A c t P 1 a y 37 Photo-Annual Staff First Row- J. Lucas, M. Lindgren. M. Gabryshak, N. Freitag, J. Paul, S. Sayas, E. Junior Class Trip We awoke that morning all grumpy and mean, but around 12:00 we were happy and keen. We toured Chicago-a right busy place, but us small town folks stepped right into pace. We stayed at the Hyatt, quite elegant and plush. We had a wild time, and even stayed hush-hush! We made a small stay at Springfield, Illinois, where we visited Lincoln's home, oh, what a joy! We were off to St. Louis in a big whisk, even though some of us lost our stomaches. (tisk, tisk!) We saw the Golden Arch which was mighty and tall, but for some of us sleep was the best of all. When we arrived in Eureka, we all yelled hurray, because we knew we'd be in Six Flags today! We will always remember we broke the Florida trend, but we knew our fun and good times could never end! JUDE (414) 297-2153 251 Forest Lane Montello Wl, 53949 Herbert Grover, State Superintendent, handing Mr. Metcalf a Certificate of Recognition. What can be said about a wide-smiling, silver-haired, distinguished-looking man who will no longer be on the Montello School Board? One thing is for sure he will certainly be missed. Only his family and the Board will really know just how many long, tedious hours Mt Metcalf has devoted to this position. After 22 years of service; an enormous amount of knowledge and hard work has gone into the many critical decisions that have to be made for the school district. Mr Metcalf attended Montello High School himself and graduated in 1942. He graduated in 1949 from UW-Madison with a degree in Agricultural Engineering and Animal Husbandry. He is married, with four children, and has operated a farm for many years. Some of Mr. Metcalf's hobbies are paint- ing barns, singing in a quartet, hunting and traveling to see his daughters in West Montana and East Virginia. We were told, he is known to pan for Gold, also!! Maybe, after retiring he will have more time to do more of his hobbies! The School District of Montello, would like to say a Special Thanks” to Vincent Metcalf, for his trust-worthiness, and will- ingness to help and guide this school board for such a long time. This page is being dedicated to a thought- ful and understanding man who did this district proud for 22 years. Mr. Metcalf, you will be GREATLY missed! 79 AGAINST ALL ODDS How can I just let you walk away Just let you leave without a trace When I stand here Taking every breath With you You're the only one Who really knew me at all. How can you just walk away from me When all I can do is watch you leave Cause we've shared the laughter and the pain. We've even shared the tears You're the only one Who really knew me at all. So take a look at me now There's just an empty space and there's nothing there to remind me There's just the memory of your face take a look at me now There's just an empty space And you coming back to me is against the odds That's what I've got to face. I wish I could just make you turn around Turn around and see me cry There's so much I need to say to you So many reasons why. You're the only one Who really knew me at all. So take a look at me now There's just an empty space And there's nothing left here to remind me Just the memory of your face Now take a look at me now Cause there’s just an empty space But to wait for you is all I can do And that's what I've got to face 80 m
