Our Science department this year con- sists of classes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and General Science, a required Freshman course. Physics, a College Prep subject, is taught by Mr. Mischka. He also teaches Chemistry, and General Science. Mr. Williams, teaches Biology. 41 This year our English department lias expended to include Mrs. Milner, and Mrs. Gibson. This now makes a total of five English Teachers. Mrs. Milner teaches a Junior class, Mrs. Gibson a sophomore class, Mr. Sveum a Senior class, Mrs. Tanner Freshmen, and Sophomore classes, and Mrs. Schwitz Sophomore, Junior, and Senior classes. Home Economics Our Home Economics Department has expanded this year to include a Boys Cooking Class. The courses offered this year are. Family Living, Home Economics, and the Boys Cooking Class. French this year is taught by Mrs. Gibson, she also teaches classes in the grade school. F r e n c h Our Social Science de- partment courses consists of Geography and Social Studies, the latter a required course for freshmen, and both are taught by Mr. Tanner. Mrs. Tanner teaches a course in World History. Mr. Klug teaches U.S. History, Social Pro- blems, and a new college prep course, Economics. 45 Physical Education is taught by Mr. Lueder and Mrs. Klug. Some of the sports offered are: football, soccer, tennis, arch- ery, badminton, table, tennis, gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, softball, track and field, and golf. 46 Mr. Schrab teaches Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, and Senior Math. These courses prepare students for college, assists in logical thinking, and deals with math- matical ideas and concepts. 47 Commercial Our commercial courses taught by Mrs. Klug and Mrs. Anderson consists of General Business, Typing, Shorthand, Office Practice, and Bookkeeping. These classes are designed to help those students who are in- terested in clergical work where typing and stenographic skills are required. A G Ag class is taught by Mr. Whirry. Throughout the year the class has the chance to travel on many field trips to various farms. They not only observe, but also take part in whatever is being taught. 49 Drafting Drafting consists of Mechanical and Architectural draw- ing two of the newer courses being taught deals with the funda- mentals of machine parts and a complete set of home plans. Mr. Haase is the instructor. Band — Chorus Our Band instructor this year is Mr. Schrimpf. He instructs Junior Cadet and Senior Cadet Band. He also gives lessons during the day. This year our chorus instructor is Mr. Joshlen. He teaches one high school class, and the rest grade school. 51 The Art classes are taught by Mrs. Zieman at the Forest Lane Elementary School. Our Confer- ence record was 6 wins and one loss. This Years Seniors in four years of play- ing have won 27 games, lost 3, and tied 1. The 1969 homecoming festivities be- gan Thursday night with a parade. The Junior float captured First Place with Get Rich Quick, Bank on the Toppers . A bonfire on the athletic field followed the parade. On Friday night the Hilltoppers de- feated Fall River 20-8, this ended the season with a tie for the championship. Highlighting half-time was a routine by the cheerleaders, music by the band, and the crowning of the 1969 Homecom- ing Queen. A dance followed the game. The theme was Winter Shade of Pale .
