PROTEST TO DRESS CODE. WHAT........???..?.???..? YOU DIDN'T ..?????.?.???? 3 4 School % mtm ■■■■■■ V,Vo «. Shop And “Ag” Shop and Ag instructors this year are Mr. Haase, and Mr. Whirry. Mr. Haase's shop class, which is learning drafting, has made tables es- pecially designed for the course. Mr. Whirry's boys, who have been National winners for years, are again studying for State competition. We wish them much luck. g Our Home Ec. department is designed for teaching young people how to manage the finances of a home, shop for a family, care for a family and how to help provide for a family's clothing by learning the proper techniques of sewing. This year Art is being taught in the Forest Lane Grade School, by Mrs. Zieman. Much of their work can be seen in displays around the school. 9 Band And Phy. Ed. Our band instructor this year is Mr. Churchill. He teaches Junior and Senior band and also gives lessons during the day. Mrs. Klug, Mr. Lueder, and Mr. Pliskie teach physical education. This course had sections on basketball, base- ball, volleyball, soccer, and archery. 10 Our commercial course, taught by Mr. Peterson and Mrs. Klug, consists of General Business, Typing I, Typing II, Shorthand, Office Practice, and Bookkeeping. They are designed to help those interested in future clerical work or those who intend on going on to school, where typing and stenographic skills are required. ii French And English This year, Mrs. Ebben taught French classes for the first semester. The second semester was taught by Mrs. Locy. A third year of French was added to our cur- riculum this year. Mrs. Schwitz teaches junior, senior, and college prep English classes. Mrs. Tanner teaches all freshmen and sopho- more English. Mr. Sveum instructs a senior English class. 12 Math Our Math department includes four years of interelated subjects. Algebra I and II, freshman and junior courses, deal with the logical use of mathematical ideas and con- cepts. Geometry, a sophomore course, deals with the logical use of intuition and induction. All these are combined in Ad- vanced Math which is recommended for college-bound students. 13 Science Our Science department this year consists of classes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and General Science, a required Freshman course. Physics, a College Prep subject, is taught by Mr. Mischka. He also teaches Chemistry, and General Science. Mr. Tanner, Mr. Williams, and Mr. Lueder teach the Biology classes. 14 Our Social Science department consists of several different clas - ses. Mr. Burkart teaches World History, Geography, and Social Studies, a required course for Freshmen. Mr. Klug teaches U. S. History, and Social Problems. Their purpose is to help you un- derstand your nation's history and adjust to and understand modern society, by studying its past and present government systems. FOURTH ROW: Debbie Sheller. These girls represented Montello's GAA at Stevens Point University Volleyball Sportsday, which was held last fall. They played teams from Shanowa, Merrill, Wis. Rapids, Medford, and New London. At the end of the day they had won the champi- onship. The school, the GAA organization, and their advisor were proud of them--not only because they won, but because of their attitude, sportsmanship, and lady- like actions while participating in this sportsday.
