Sometime after this picture was taken the lunchroom was completely remodeled. More efficient kitchen and serving areas as well as a more pleasant dining area were provided. A system for serving hot lunches to students in area schools was also begun this year. All cooking is done by Mrs. Jack Giencke, Mrs. Alfred Zuelke and Mrs. Robert Fenley. Mrs. James Washburn, secretary to the principal, is kept busy with record- keeping, typing and numerous other duties necessary to the school. Mr. Erwin Schmitz and Mr. Ed Bornick are shown at the close of a busy day. The school day ends at 3:30 for most students, but much of a janitor's work still remains to be done after that time. Besides cleaning, snow shoveling etc. they do a wonderful job of keeping things repaired and are on hand for all evening events in the building. Mr. Schmitz also delivers the hot lunches to all area schools. -8-
