MOTTO : “Today we follow. Tomorrow we lead. VALEDICTORIAN: Janis Robinson SALUTATORIAN: Florence Steinhaus D.A.R. GOOD CITIZEN: Dorothy Weiske ADVISERS: Miss Bernice Scobie Mr. L. A. Kiger PRESIDENT: Dick Noreen VICE-PRESIDENT: Dale Steinhaus SECRETARY-TREASURER: Dorothy Weiske FLOWER: Yellow Rose COLORS: Old Rose Silver SettionA . . . In September of 1949, 47 freshmen launched upon a high school career. Hesitating at first at our strange surroundings we soon became acquainted, and after our initiation we were truly a part of Montello High School. It was evident from the beginning that we were going to accomplish things. As Sophomores we were very active in the many school activities; as juniors the main item of concern was our junior prom. Hectic weeks of feverish preparation resulted in an imaginative set- ting of our theme, ‘‘Stairway to the Stars . Searl Pick- ett's orchestra provided the music as king Donald Utke and queen Phyllis Czeskleba reigned over the event. Our senior year, most memorable of all, calls to mind happy memories of the senior class play and skip day. During the year a new student, Irene Mace, became a member of our class making 42 graduates, a remark- able attainment. For us, the years passed quickly and happy memories of our friends and teachers will linger on.
