Good Citizen, Margaret Schmitz Advisers ......Mr. Kiger, Mr. Whirry ’3 7- ’3 8 In September, 1946, Montello High School opened its doors to 45 freshmen. The big event of the year was initiation day. In the fall of 1947, we were more confident as we returned to our classes. This year it was our turn to initiate the greenhorns. In our Junior year the big event was the Junior Prom. King Duane Schwartz and Queen Carolyn Hintz led the Prom goers through the grand march. Our junior year saw us all showing off new class rings and also earned for us the right to attend the Junior-Senior Banquet. Only 31 of the original 45 were together in our senior year. Senior Skip Day and the Senior Class Play were two of the outstanding events of the senior year. Finally commencement and we bid farewell to our high school days. The memories will linger in our minds — always.
