FORENSICS Eighteen students took port in Forensics this year. The winners of the local contests held February 21 and 24, were: Extemporaneous Read- ing — Ida Mae Hersey, Extemporaneous Speak- ing — Jordan Kozlowski, Original Oration — Mary Inman, Non-original Oration — Daniel Pol- cyn, Four-Minute Speech — Marvel Doepke, Serious Declamation — Peggy Schmitz, Humor- ous Declamation — Paul Shurpit. The following received an A rating in the district contest held at Montello and will compete at Stevens Point April 1. Jordan Kozlowski, Mary Inman, Daniel Polcyn, Peggy Schmitz, and Paul Shurpit. Last year Thelma Darling received an A rating at Stevens Point and went to the state contest at Madison where she also received an A rating. We hope to do as well this year. BOYS' CHORUS ... MIXED ENSEMBLE The Boys’ Chorus consists of fourteen members under the direction of Miss Bernice Scobie. The members song for the Christmas program and plan to give a recital in the spring. Our officers are Daniel Polcyn, President; Fredrick Meiller, vice president; Allen Bliefnick, secretray-treasurer. The Mixed Ensemble is made up of members of the Girls’ and Boys’ Choruses. We participated in the spring festival at Port Edwards and local concert. DRAMATIC CLUB In October the Dramatic Club held its first meeting of the year under the supervision of Miss Tosch. This year the selected contest play was Trifles”.
