Leona Gaatz Salutatorian .................... Paul Brunet D.A.R. Good Citizen ............. Leona Gaatz Advisors Principal L. A. Kiger, Miss Ann L. Gibbons In the fall of 1945, forty-two students from Montello and surrounding townships met to form our freshman class. At the end of nine months of turmoil we were elevated to soph- omores. The highlight of the year was the initiation of the freshmen. In our junior year we all worked long and hard to make our prom a success. Music was furnished by Tony Winters and his orchestra. The theme was I’m Always Chasing Rainbows.” Our king and queen were the honorable Gradon Arendsee and Adeline Hillmer. This year we also chose our class rings and attended the Junior-Senior banquet. Near the beginning of the fourth and last year at M.H.S. the senior pictures were taken. They all say that pictures don’t lie and it could be true. Then came the class play, Good Night, Ladies,” which was a success and fun. One day in May the school seemed very quiet — no wonder — it was senior skip day. We again attended the Junior-Senior banquet — this time with seniority rights. All too soon the day of Commencement and the Alumni Banquet will arrive and we'll realize that the good old days are over. We have had fun. So long, M.H.S., we’ll miss you.
