Blue and Silver Class Motto......... Tonight We Launch Where Shall We Anchor Valedictorian .............. Mary Rowe Salutatorian ......... Alice Eichsteadt D.A.R. Good Citizen . Mary Ann Weiske Advisors Mr. Constance, L. A. Kiger The year 1944 welcomed sixty green Freshmen into Montello High school. Now, as seniors, we number forty-one. Al- though we were Montello’s largest Fresh- man class we were customarily frightened and stayed in our own small corner until after initiation. As sophomores we took great joy in initiating the Freshmen. Then came our Junior year and the prom. The date for this occasion was set for April 18, 1947. Our theme was Blue Hawaii, with music furnished by Tom Temple and his orchestra. The gym was beautifully decorated with colored lights, a blue sky, flowers and palm trees. Darwin Bell reigned as prom king and Mary Ann Weiske as queen. Choosing our class rings, and the Junior-Senior banquet added much pleasure. After three years of hard work we finally obtained the privilege of being called Seniors. Senior pictures were taken at the beginning of the school year, and everyone seemed quite satisfied with them. Other events were the Junior-Senior banquet. Senior trip. Commencement, the Alumni Ban- quet, and the Senior class play, The Inner Willy.
