5 1. After much dancing, Sonia Alvarado and her es- cort decide to sit one out. 2. ASB members like Donna and Jerry could be seen supporting the Winter Ball. 3. Jerry and Liz boogie on down to the music of City Life. 4. Junior Queen Dolores Salazar overflows with tears of happiness at being crowned. 5. The Freshman Queen Julie Figueroa dances quietly with Jessie Felix, her escort. 6. Elena Ornelas, Sophomore Queen sits with her escort Floxy Rodriguez. 7. Such was the scene of the first Winter Ball January 25. The dance was held off campus at the Belle 'n' Beau. Everything from disco to slow, romantic music was played by the band City Life. The floor was constantly filled with the girls in their evening dresses dancing with the guys in their suits. The highlight of the dance was the crowning of each class queen with Pat Medina chosen as Senior Queen while Dolo- res Salazar, Elena Ornelas, and Julie Figueroa were picked as Junior, Sophomore, and Freshman Queens respectively. As the evening ended, couples departed filled with memo- ries of this enchanting night. Winter Dance 29
