Favorite pastimes are travel and gardening. ROSALIA BUCHANAN Home Economics She was class president in high school and was president of Home Econ- omics Club. She was ac- tive in Woman's Athletic Association in College. Recently she took a trip to Scotland. MARILYN CULBERTSON Physical Education In San Francisco she was in various dance groups, both in school and out. A CSF life member, she enjoys sewing, sailing and dancing. 25 LARRY BENEDETTE Science He served as president of his senior class, mem- ber of letterman's club and Knights in high school. He was also a charter member of the jazz Society. Singing, dancing, and listening to music are his favorite pastimes. JOHN E.BUsH English Graduate of Iowa State Teacher's College and University of Iowa, this is his first year at MHS. Being a spectator at ath- letic and musical events is his favorite pastime. IACK CUMMINS Mathematics A native of Virginia, hc was active in football, basketball, baseball, and wrestling in high school and college. He has served two terms in the Navy, the second being in the Asiatic Campaign. ELLA BESSINCER English Mrs. Bessinger served as secretary of her class at University of Michigan and was on Pan-Hellenic Council. T h e warm, friendly s c h o o 1 spirit shown by students and faculty are what impress her most about MHS. WILLIAM CLAKSON Business Valedictorian of his high school class, he majored in Business Education and now enjoys teaching clerical and office prac- tice at MHS. He at- tended UC at Berkely and Kansas University. MARSHALL DAMON Industrial Arts He was born in Califor- nia and his hobbies in- clude hunting, fishing, and stamp collecting. He was once employed as a timber-faller and bricker in a lumber camp. FRANKLIN BON Business A graduate of VVilliam and Mary College in Vir- ginia, he has been a member of the US Naval Reserve for 18 years. and presently holds the rank of Lieutenant Command- cr. KENNETH COOK Music Among the several col- leges he has attended are USC and Whittier. He has taught at MHS for eight years, teaching Choir and Driver's Ed. He enjoys woodworking. PAT DESATOFF Physical Education Songleader at MHS, she was Tri-Y President and Lu-Y Girl-of-the-Year. She was GAA secre- tary. He attended UCLA where he majored in Physics and has been teaching at MHS for 32 years. BARBARA CONYERS Social Science An MHS graduate, Mrs. Conyers has attended Pasadena City College, UCLA, and LA State. She enjoys sailing and tennis and holds various scholastic honors from the schools she has at- tended.
