U15 lx ,Sl JN! ll' i all MN fi gif ' lgxgzk iffy ., x. ,. X .N On Montebello seems to be the slogan which m o st accurately des- cribes the spirit of our school. As our enrollment increases, as our compus is enlarged and new facilities are added, as our curriculum is expand- ed, there is a constant desire on the part of students and faculty to bring new honors to MHS. These achieve- ments in scholarship, in sports, in the arts, in vocational training and in the general management of student body affairs a1'e an inspiration to each class group to gain distinction, and in so doing to make a better school which all may honor. ,KX 'Q ,ytjl , fv ft 25' Lift ljfffrf J' 114 qw ff ,,l,lg, f Q, ,M .lf .fy .4 kllll iffy J J ,n ll ski x Il , if xl ljll If f' Xl Jn . yn, My - dxf' fi ,ft- 't , -- f ,Ut PM jj , Z . The new pool, new shops, new girl's physical education facilities, and the addition to the music room are physical evidence that we are getting larger. Each year the number of students grows. Important though as these physical changes are, the ad- ministration fosters and is aware of the more important growth each stu- dent makes through his associations and his attendance at this school. It is most interesting and gratifying to be a part of this great activity. 7f4eEg 5, -ff T: ,A hz, C32

ffl 'cGroWth has been the key word at Montebello Senior High School since moving to the present site nine years ago. During this time we have seen the campus grow from one having only a few buildings to our present one which has in addition to the or- iginal buildings a new thirty-eight room academic building, a gymna- sium, a lighted football' field and stands, and a new auditorium. In ad- dition to these improvements, we have at the present time under con- struction a swimming pool, an ad- ditional music room, new girls, phys- ical education quarters, and ad- ditional shops. This growth has not all been in the area of new construction. Aca- demically, Montebello Senior High School students li ave consistently been among the top students in our state and in the nation. Our activity groups such as the band, choir, and l l i l I i l ii athletic teams have grown from very small groups to ones that are now ranked as the best in the Southland. In the area of student body govern- ment, Montebello Senior High School has developed over these years an outstanding organization, one that is used as a pattern by many new high schools. This growth pattern has made itself felt in our enti1'e student body. Our school spirit is at a new high. By continuing to grow throughout this school year and in the future, Mon- tebello Senior High School will not only maintain its present high posi- tion among the high schools of our nation but will reach out to new levels of attainment.
