R klh-fx Xxx X4 Since Montebello is located near the Southern California beaches, the annual staff of nineteen hundred and fifty-four has decided upon the theme of SEA BREEZES. Often on rainy or windy days, one can see the seagulls circling over the campus reminding Oilerville that the sea isn't far away. As Easter vacation rolls around each year, one finds the students' thoughts turning to Balboa and a joyous week at the beach. The annual staff sincerely hopes that in the coming years this book will help remind everyone of the many wonderful hours spent at the beach and on the campus. This is the first year that THE GOLDEN KEY has been published by a class. Until this year it had been an extra-curricular activity. The class in the print shop under the direction of Mr. Wallace Buchanan. There have been many improvements added to the yearbook, such as eight extra pages to give a larger coverage. The entire book has been lithographed by the exclusive rnirro-graphic process and has been covered with a wrinkle-proof, buckle-proof cover to improve the appear- X. .1 x W I ns xix ,. Every individual in the group pictures is clearly iden- tified and these pictures are bigger and clearer than before. A new experiment has been tried in the presentation of etchings of the buildmgs instead of the usual photographs The GOLDEN KEY of 54 has been carefully put together by a staff which desires to give the students 2 yearbook to treasure throughout a life time
