Later he was a lino- type operator on daily newspa- pers, and a publisher of a week- ly newspaper. One summer he was a forest ranger. He has at- tended Stanford U., U.C.L.A. and U. of Cal. MARSHALL DAMON Machine Shop Mr. Damon, who came to Oil- erville six years ago when the school moved to its present cam- pus, is a graduate in Vocational Education from U.C.L,A, and has attended other southern Califor- nia colleges. He is a journeyman machinist, but has also worked as a logger. Radio Shop Mr. Esterwold graduated from high school and college in Santa Barbara. and attended U.C.L.A. and Claremont Graduate School. JONES Mechanical Drawing Mr. jones, serving his First year at Montebello, has been teaching for three years. He is a native of Los Angeles, and graduated from Franklin High School, L. A. He received his degree from U.C. at Santa Barbara, and h as done graduate work at S.C. MR. ROBERT J. STETLER IV ood Shop Graduating from Van Nuys High, Mr. Stetler went on to Santa Barbara College. He has also attended U.S.C. While in college he was president of the Inter-fraternity Council. His scho- lastic affiliation is Epsilon Pi Tau. He served as an oflicer in the Navy in World War II. MR. WALTER TRASIN Auto Shop Mr. Trasin was born in Erie, Penn., where he attended high school. He graduated from U.C. L.A., but has also attended San jose State, San Francisco State and U.S.C. MRS. MARY MORGAN FOX Plyyrical Education Mrs. Fox was W. P. E. Club president and student body song leader at Whittier College. At Whittier Union High School, she was senior class secretary and sergeant-at-arms of the Girls' League. She has been teaching here for eight years. MRS. GERALDINE SPERLING Physical Education Mrs. Sperling graduated from U.C,L.A., where she also at- tended for graduate work. She ac- cepted a scholarship to U.C.L.A. This is her second year at Mon- tebello, but her fourth year of teaching. She was a sergeant in the army. MRS, DIANE L. STARKEY Pbyiiral Education Mrs. Starkey was reared in Hemet, Calif., where in high school she was Girls' League President and A.S.B. Secretary. She received undergradu- ate scholastic honors and highest senior award at Chapman. MR. LEON T. BROOCK Science Mr. Broock holds the distinc- tion of being the only faculty member who has owned and op- erated a railroad-at Streamland Park. He has also served as a surveyor, jig builder, machinist an explorer, in addition to teach- ing here since 1926. He is a graduate of U.C.L.A,, and also attended U.C. at Berkeley. Her activities were debating, drama, and or- chestra and she was salutatorian of her graduating class in high school. Most of her teaching has been at Montebello Senior High School. EBERLE Science Mr. Eberle graduated from Northern State Teachers' College and has also attended U. of No. Dakota, Morningside College, U. of Iowa and Oregon State Col- lege.
