FRANK WAITS Foreign Language Mr. Waits was born in Texas, but came to California and grad- uated from Bonita Union High School where he was yell leader. Her extra-curricular student act- ivities included orchestra, college debating team, Y.W.C.A.. and Women's Athletic Association. She recently served a term as president of the Montebello Bus- iness and Professional Womens organization. MRS. HONOR CRAM FREASE Home Economicr Mrs. Frease was reared and graduated from high school in Burwell, Nebraska. She went on to college and graduated from the University of Nebraska. OPAL PIERCE Home Making Mrs. Pierce was reared in Mis- souri where she attended New Hampton High School. She then attended U.S.C. and U.C.L.A, and graduated from the latter. She was Sec.-Treas. of the College Home Economics Club. She has spent all but two of her teaching years at Montebello. MRS. FAY R. PRESSWOOD Home Making Mrs. Presswood was reared in Throckmorton, Texas, and grad- uated from Texas State College for Women. She was active in sports and also served as dormi- tory president. She was a high school honor graduate. She has been teaching here for two years. She once supervised a nursery school for three and a half years. jf f-. ADAMS English Miss Adams, in her student days in Massachusetts and In- diana, was active in dramatics and student council, was treasurer and vice-president of the Senior Class, and on the staff of the school paper. She held the highest av- erage in her high school class and won a scholarship to college. MR. EUGENE N. ADAMS English II, III A graduate of one of the rival schools of the Oilers is Mr. Ad' ams, who was a Monrovia Wild- cat when he went to high school. EDGAR DOWD English II Missoula, Montana, is where Mr. Dowd was born and reared. Some of his years were spent as an instructor on an Indian reser- vation and in the Navy, but one of his most interesting employ- ment experiences was owner and operator of the only grass hut barber shop in the world fSa- moaj. She has taught all grades from 4th to the 2nd year of college. Her highest honor has been serving teachers of this district as president of the Montebello Teachers' Association. Her greatest desire is to visit many places, both here in Amer- ica and in other countries. MRS. GERTRUDE J. HOOPES English In Wheaton College, Mrs. Hoopes received her B.A. and her M.A. in the U. of Illinois. Her principal student activities and offices were glee club, dra- matics, literary society and class secretary. Later he was a lino- type operator on daily newspa- pers, and a publisher of a week- ly newspaper. One summer he was a forest ranger. He has at- tended Stanford U., U.C.L.A. and U. of Cal. MARSHALL DAMON Machine Shop Mr. Damon, who came to Oil- erville six years ago when the school moved to its present cam- pus, is a graduate in Vocational Education from U.C.L,A, and has attended other southern Califor- nia colleges. He is a journeyman machinist, but has also worked as a logger. Radio Shop Mr. Esterwold graduated from high school and college in Santa Barbara. and attended U.C.L.A. and Claremont Graduate School. He received his degree from U.C. at Santa Barbara, and h as done graduate work at S.C. MR. ROBERT J. STETLER IV ood Shop Graduating from Van Nuys High, Mr. Stetler went on to Santa Barbara College.
