This year the band went to Regionals and the Orchestra Festival at Granite Hills High School. The band also participated in the Tracey Sym- phonic Band and Orchestra Festival near San Francisco. The Concert Band of Monte Vista High School has 30 members and is under the direction of Mr. Mark Kamp.

They discussed aviation events, some ground school topics, and planned trips at these meetings. Some of the trips that were made this year were a special guided tour of the Aerospace Musuem at Balboa Park, Gillespie Field tour of air traffic control tower, and a trip to Edwards Air Force Base, tour NASA Shuttle facilities, see B-1 Bomber. The club also participated in the Spring Career Day activi- ties.
