Monte Vista's 1983 tennis team had many talented players. Returning senior lettermen Mike Anderson and John Rumsey, and sophomores David Burgess and Eric Svalstad were veterans of last year's second place team. The number one singles player was junior Larry Getz. Larry played a very exciting brand of tennis and finished high in the league's won-loss standings. Two freshmen, Woody Yocom and Greg Baker began their tennis careers this year. Both of these fine players proved talented and made major contribu- tions to the success of the varsity team. Junior Tom Lybarger was a strong addition, playing singles and doubles. Senior Don Chase and junior Robby Storton were a strong doubles team.
