Page 64 nf' loan., 801198 fOl' 5199 FUI' OTHICIIICE THIS YEAR THE GLEE CLUB worked with Don Wliit- sitt, who replaced Ronald Shirey as director, and was ac- companied by Sister Regina, head of the Music Depart- ment. Under Mr. W'hitsitt's direction, the Glee Club gave five performances. The first of these was the fall concert. Hit songs from musicals were featured in the show such as No Other Love from Me and -luliet, Some Enchanted Evening from South Pacific, Wt1nting You from The New Moon and My Hero from The Chocolate Soldier. Dance arrangements were added to the show by Mrs. Homer Crowdus, ballet instructor. The Glee Club took its annual trip to Oklahoma City April I8 for the Music Festival. The trip called for a lot of hard work from the girls. Some of the group songs were Snow Legend, Conchita, Give Me A Song To Sing, Jacobs Ladder and They Call it America. The Glee Club gave a spring concert in which were featured spirituals, religious and patriotic songs. Besides their concerts, the Glee Club sang in two re- citals given by the school and the senior recitals in Feburary and April. A new addition to the Glee Club this year was the Double Sextet. This group grew out of the Triple Trio which was formed three years ago. The group consists of twelve junior and senior girls. .. X .Walling pfarzf fur their fufufc are Suf- fette.
