INDUSTRIAL ARTS Industrial Arts is another of the new de- partments which promises good things for its members and for Montclair. Through In- dustrial Arts the wonderful work of honest, gifted hands has been accorded its proper place. Sometimes hurried, and often lacking space and equipment, students and instruc- tors in this field have always managed to contribute to the improvement of the college, and do credit tn their own aliililies. Carl E. Frankson. Ph.D.. Dept. Head; Earl. Ed.D. Reynolds, Hall HOME ECONOMICS . lthough the Home Economics Depart- ment is in its infancy, it has many assets: a new building, a dream kitchen, sewing machines, and a luxurious living-room. Under the supervision of its two faculty members, the students attend conferences in many colleges. The results of such activ- ity and vision here can be measured by the pride which the department creates in those outside of, as well as within, its program. Katharine B. Hall, Ph.D., Dept. FIELD STUDIES The intrigue of far places forms the basic foundation of the Field Studies Department. Building upon this intrigue, the department arranges tours and programs which will pro- vide a learning experience made more mean- ingful and lasting through pleasant activ- ities. Our professional stature is increased by awareness of the customs and surround- ings forming other civilizations. FINE ARTS The young and rapidly growing Fine Arts Department provides students with a double advantage. Not only are they able to express themselves creatively, but they enjoy the use of four modern studios in the beautiful new classroom building. These facilities, directed and supplemented by a strong pro- fessional faculty, make possible a wide range of experimentation in all the phases of art. Here traditional and modern forms receive a just treatment. The spirit of art is pre- served and venerated, for personal, profes- sional and scholastic satisfaction. FINE ARTS Lillian A. Calcia, Ed.D., Dept. Head ; Lock- wood, A.M.; Osgood, A.M.; Ross, B.S.; Vernacchia, A.M. GEOGRAPHY This department will take you around the world in four years.
