STudenTs planning business work are advised To specialize in one oT Three Tields in Their lasT Two years oT high school. These Tields are sTenography, oTTice machines and Tiling, and ac- counTing. A course, Business Principles and Prac- Tices, is oTTered To sophomores. This course in- .cludes vocaTional inTormaTion and consideraTion oT The selecTion OT iobs in The business Tield. The sophomores are also given an opporTuniTy To dis- goyjr Their apTiTudes and inTeresTs in The business ie . TypewriTing X is Taken by pupils Tor personal use. All college preparaTory sTudenTs Try To TiT This inTo Their schedules whenever possible. The Applied SecreTarial Class is Tor senior girls who are Taking a business course. ln This class The girls become Tamiliar wiTh Typical oTTice procedures such as Tak- ing dicTaTion. Typing, and handling special machines which are Tound in modern oTTices. Field Trips help PROJECTION Them To see oTTices in acTion and To observe The daily rouTine in a business siTuaTion. The Teachers OT The Business EducaTion DeparT- menT do a greaT deal ouTside oT classes Towards making The program a success. Mr. John l.andgraT, who is The head oT The Business EducaTion DeparT- menT, works Tirelessly Tor The program and devoTes much oT his Time To The bookroom. As The school Bursar, Mr. ChiTTim is in charge OT The individual accounTs OT The school. The banking commiTTee which is headed by Mr. Bello encourages sTudenTs To bank in Their individual homerooms and Thus learn The advanTages oT a savings accounT. This program has made much progress in The lasT Tew years. Mrs. Edna Ream has given her unTailing sup- porT To making The proiecTion squad a success. This group consisTs oT a large number oT boys who give up Their sTudy periods To operaTe movies, slides. and oTher visual aids Tor homerooms and assem- blies. Miss Fischer has aided The Business Educa- Tion DeparTmenT a greaT deal.
