Besides perTorming aT The games. The band plays aT The pep rallies and aT The annual FooTball BangueT. The band and orchesTra provide an op- porTuniTy Tor The aspiring musician To play a varieTy of music. The orchesTra, direcTed by Mr. Scelba, provides music Tor The assemblies and school TuncTions. The orchesTra also per- Torms aT all The junior highs in Town. The vocal worlc oT our music deparTmenT is supervised by Mr. McClellan. There are eighT girls' glee clubs, Three boys' glee clubs, and a mixed chorus. These groups combine To presenT a ChrisTmas and a Spring ConcerT. During The year in preparaTion Tor The con- cerTs The groups sing secular, sacred, semi- popular, and Tollc songs. AparT Trom The glee clubs There is The BOYS' GLEE CLUB Madrigal choir which is a selecTed group ,W T -- consisTing chieTly of iuniors and seniors. This group is direcTed and Trained by Mr. McClel- lan. TryouTs are held in June Tor membership in The choir. The members pracTice aT leasT Twice a weelc beTore school. The Mads Tol- low a busy schedule Tor singing Tor assem- blies boTh aT The High School and aT junior highs in Town. They also sing aT various Town TuncTions, such as The Lions Club. This year a music lisTening club was sTarTed Tor Those who are really inTeresTed in lisTening To and discussing serious music.
