The classes are of Three differenT Types: The I and 2 secTions are for Those Taking college preparaTory course: and The 3 divisions are for The non-college going sTudenTs. The difference beTween The I and 2 secTions is ThaT The former consisTs of sTudenTs who are more advanced in Their Technical skills while The laTTer is made up of average sTudenTs. The English DeparTmenT also offers a few classes ThaT are ouT of The ordinary. Mr. Anderson's I2m class prepares The bi-weekly school newspaper, The MounTaineer. The Mounfaineer sTaff works as a Team, learning To accepf responsibiliTy while iT acquires Training in journalism. Working along wiTh The ediforial sfaff is The Mounfaineer Business STaff under The guidance of Mr. Wacker. The business sTaff is a iunior homeroom, selecTed from voluns Teers, which solicifs ads and collecTs subscripTions. Also, This year a special reading class has been insTiTuTed for seniors. Dr. Lefson Takes small groups of seniors Twice a week for six weeks To Teach Them beTTer sTudy and reading habiTs. Then, Mr. AlmquisT and Mr. McClaskey Teach The ArT-English class which gives The parTicipaTing sTudenTs a chance To experimenT and express Them- selves in These Two relafed mediums. This year ArT C., K .33 l English concenTraTed on The modern Theories of arT, liTeraTure, and music in relaTion To The Amer- ican scene. Besides The regular and special classes, The M.l-l.S. English program includes a varieTy of clubs and acTiviTies. Miss Holland guides The Amphi- TheaTre WriTing STaff in The wrifing of The per- sonaliTy skeTches, feaTure arTicles, and picfure cap- Tions for The yearbook. WiTh The aid of Mr. RoberTs, The Program Selling CommiTTee collecfs The informaTion and picTures for The fooTball pro- grams and sells Them aT The home games. The Library Council, under The supervision of Miss N. B. DeJarneTTe, helps wiTh The clerical work of The library. The Library Council also gave This year The Third annual ChrisTmas Tea for The faculTy and adminisTraTion and an assembly. Under The direcTion of Miss EiTze, The Dra- maTic Club chooses plays. This year iT presenTed Our l'learTs Were Young and Gay for The P.T.A. in December and Then Two one-acT plays for as- semblies in The spring. Miss FiTze headed The com- miTTee. To pick a represenTaTive from MonTclair I-Iigh School for The PoeTry Reading ConTesT. She also devofes her Time To The Assembly CommiTTee which plans The assembly programs and supervises The passing To and from The assemblies.
