CLADYS l. WINCATE Cladys Wingate received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College and did graduate study at Dartmouth and Yale. As a teacher of Latin and French in Montclair High since l922, she has been understand- ing and extremely successful in giving her students confidence in their work and ability. Her reasonable sympathy and liber- al point of view have been admired by both faculty and students. Acting as co-adviser of the junior Red Cross, Mrs. Wingate has continued with an interest which she de- veloped while serving with a canteen unit in France during the first World War. As a special hobby, Lieutenant-Colonel and Mrs. Wingate have for many years shared an interest in the breeding and training of Morgan horses. RETIRING TEACHERS RUTH E. WILDER Miss Ruth Wilder has been a member of the high school staff since l92O. She re- ceived her training at Thomas Normal School in Detroit and at Chicago University. For one year she served as an exchange teacher in an Oakland high school, a model school of the University of California. As a teacher of Home Economics, Miss Wilder naturally has a keen interest in interior decoration and hopes her plans for building a house will soon materialize. ln her teach- ing she has, in a friendly manner, shared with her students her respect for high standards of workmanship and conduct. Through her skilled work and sincere in- terest, she has gained the respect and gratitude of those who have been associated with her. 5
