Looking back upon our high school years, we suddenly begin to replace the blithe acceptance of our opportunities with their true evaluation. We realize that this period of advancement and cooperation may represent three of the best years of our lives. While at Montclair High, we have opened a new era of longer skirts, slower music and faster cars. We have established the stage and players for a dozen dra- mas daily in our intimate class- room life. ln the victories and defeats of our school teams we have through our sense of indi- vidual responsibility gained suc- cess for the group. Whether we won, or lost, we learned what it means to work together for a common goal. All of these ex- periences are replaced now by memories, but they will be con- stantly relived in meeting new problems and in entering into future relationships. june Finn

At Montclair High School Mr. Putnam has taught Latin and 4 With sincere good wishes, we, the class of l948, dedi- cate this book to George W. Putnam, our friend and adviser. i C-reek, acted as adviser to the Greek Club and the Student Faculty, and served as Assistant Principal since l927. We have been guided and inspired by his friendly interest, wise counsel, devotion to duty and sense of fair playg and his soft spoken, sincere manner will indeed be remembered by all of us. ln our helpful adviser, teacher and personal friend, we have admired a man who truly represents the finest ideals of Montclair High School.
