Early in September it started off on a 'X I students' tour through the seas of knowledge, yd carrying as its passengers some three hundred and fifty willing boys and girls. These pas- sengers were new at cruising and found no trouble in confusing the third deck with the first, or cabin 203 with cabin 105. Our first stop was the port of sophomore. It was here that we really became acquainted with our fellow passengers. The Sophomore Mixer, as it was called, was the event of our sojourn. It was at this gay festi- val that Boris Petroff and George Van Derhoef made known their fencing ability. VVhen our visit at Sopho- more had come to a close, we drew up anchor and set forth in the direction of Junior, a harbor of most in- teresting tradition. As we neared the harbor-head of Junior, we saw lights and indications of merry-making in the distance. Upon investigation we found that we had arrived at the scene of the famous junior Prom. Is it necessary to say that this prom was a success? The attraction of the evening was Miss Grace Rolland, who executed the role of a versatile dancer. On leaving this memorable port, we were sorry to learn of the resignation of Mr. Dutch, the President of the Steamship Company. During the run from Junior to the next port, we learned that Mr. Ferguson was to take the place of Mr. Dutch. VVe also received news that our new presi- dent was a man of very great ability and high character. This knowledge put us once more at ease as to the welfare of the company for the remainder of our cruise. After cruising through the fair waters of The Seas of Summer, and stopping at the Isle of Vacation, we turned our prow to the much anticipated port of Senior, where we dropped anchor in the quiet of dignity. We soon found, however, that the route of our ship in this harbor was greatly changed from that of last year's student tour. One of the noticeable changes was the presence of numerous bell-buoys to keep us from cruising forbidden waters. We laid these alterations to the fact that we were now under a new Company Presi- dent, and adapted ourselves to the situation in an effort to avoid unwelcome sessions in cabin 203. The return of the ship's log came while we were in Senior. This we called the Mountaineer because of the mountainous country surrounding the harbor, and published it twice a month. The social feature which we connect with our stay at Senior is the dance held on the eighteenth of March by the Captain and his mates. The evening's feature was the chorus work of six girls chosen from the passengers. There was also some very fine solo dancing by Miss Rolland and Miss Kaletsch. After this welcome diversion, we continued our way in the dories of English, History, and Latin to the Wharf of Gradu- ation where we ended our nautical journey. eweeuewewrqzvfe e IIT
