Munson We, the class of Nineteen Hundred and FiftyfFour, proudly and fondly dedicate this yearhook to the Head of the Latin Department, Mr. Claude W. lvlonson, who, for more than thirtyffive years, has heen a friend to faeulty and students alike. All of us have had eontaet with Mr. hdoll' son in one Xvay or another. many have had the henelit of his xvisdom in either a mythology or a Latin elass. Every Senior is aided lay Mr. lvlonson iii eonneetion with College Board Examinations and has eome to rely upon his assistance. Those who have not had direct eonf taet with Mr. Ivlonson have still eome to knoxv and to respect this friend to all for his serviees to Nlontelair Academy. One important faet that we should menf tion is that Mr, lvlonsoifs entire life has heen spent in the tradition of the Nnohle Roman of the prefCaesar Repuhlie. The primary pref cept of that tradition xvas that a man's life should he one of relentless, unselfish devotion to duty.
