Makes Head y Montbello Student Council has always been involved in important issues at our school, and this year was no exception. During the Student Council's December 17th l'State of Montbello Address assem- bly, one of the issues discussed was the problem with drinking and driving. The realization of this problem was par- tially sparked by the S.A.D.D. tStudents Against Drunk Drivingl but perhaps the greatest impact on the student body re- garding this issue was made when three Montbello Alumni were lost, one at the hands of a drunk driver. These tragedies have served to awaken all Montbello stu- dents to the harshness and severity of to- day's social problems in America. Our Student Council, however, did not only point out these social ills, but also proposed ways of coping with them. The Peer Counselling idea was the first to emerge along this line.
