The expression on his face changed slowly from apprehension to total astonish- ment. He jumped to his feet to yell something at us but was. as luck would have it. promptly run over by a student who told us later he was late for a class. After the accident it was very quiet outside. Up there .somewhere on the wind-swept mountain was Joseph Ybarra and on the other side of the mountain some- where was the end.
