DAY GLANCE INTO THE CLASSROOMS of the school at any time and you can see students in the vital pursuit of knowledge. Here in one room we meet an art class, struggling with brush and pencil to shape their crude skills into a finished art product: again coni- mereial students peck tentatively at the keys of their machines seek- ing proliciency and speed to meet the competition they will End outside the classroom. On the field young men drill with a new determination, for at no time did their RQTC training mean seem so inadequate. AT so much,

FOREVER MPTING a balance between activity and inactivity we find students standing, sittingg alone and in groups when the days are warm and the classroom hours long. Lawyers perch from their vantage point and banter casual insults to each other or passing' students. Or pausing in- side when the study books seem in' students and pr f surmountable, o s may gossip befor ATTE i k -, or just waste time e going back to their measuring, weighing, mixing, in an endeavor to learn by repetition what their predecessors found by arduous experimenta- tion. Retaining some of their learningsg discarding much, their minds are crammed with theory and fact with which to leave the experimental classroom and seek a place in the classroom of ' life. THE DAY 16
