Br i Igor, and Bo em an arc recalled— -men who built the first trails, the first routes over what later became the State of Montana Then as we go on — and through to 1908 - the railroads came, following somewhat these first routes and we recall Dillon, president of the Union Pacific when what is now the Oregon Short Line, Montana ' s first railway, was constructed: Billings and Villard of the Northern Pacific: Hill of the Great Northern: and Pearson of the Chicago. Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific. These men. Pioneers All, were our first builders, our first leaders— who established a constructive spirit that has been the background and a real characteristic of the Treasure State.
