X r 4? X We 55 p A Yearbooks are not always prefaced by a dedication but I felt this one should be. This edition of the 1971 Northerner is dedi- cated to a man in love, a man in love with a school. That man is President Joseph Fi. Crowley and the school is Northern Montana College. It is the sincere concern and dedication that President Crowley brings to Northern that makes it the warm and personal school it is. ln recognition of that I dedicate this yearbook to President Crowley. It is impossible to cover all things that happen in a school year and difficult to decide what should be included and what cannot be because of the limits one must work within. If something is lacking in this book, I sincerely hope that what it does contain will compensate. I would like to recognize the Taylor Publishing Company and especially Pat Cambell, our Taylor representative for patience and understanding in the process of making this yearbook. If not for fellow students this book would not be and I owe special thanks to my assistant editor, Vickie Cavesg photog- raphers, Ralph Brigham, Bob Smeltzerg Andy Heesackerg and Jim Kelly, along with my staff of Sherry Porter, John and Sharon LaBonty, and Susie Habel. An inexpressible amount of appre- ciation goes to my sister, Sharon, editor of the NoMoCo, for completing most of the final copy and details of the yearbook. I feel an overwhelming feeling of relief at the conclusion of this yearbook and also a real sense of loss that it and Northern Montana College are in my past. I feel Northern is an outstand- ing school and I hope that this book in some way represents that opinion. Sincerely, Dennis LaI3uda, Editor ii 'S rl l 'Nh Pictured above is the Publication staff of Northern Montana College.
