Northern Montana College Havre, Montana K = I ' u t ii r V ♦ IL. « i r The 1965 Northerner edited by the Annual Staff of Northern Montana College A D M I N I S T R A T I N President ' s Message The pages within these covers constitute a partial history of an institution and of people who helped form the institution and were formed by it. The history is partial not only because of the limited spanof time covered but, more importantly, because of the impossibility through words or pictures of recording fully the im- pact upon students who have been exposed to the institutional climate--a climate, established by those whose names and pictures appear herein and by students and faculty who have preceded them. The true and meaningful history of Northern Montana College, its students and its faculty during the past year can be assessed only in the light on an involvement in a great enterprise to promote the freedom of all men. The involvement will be noteworthy only if it resulted in producing men and women competent in intellectual inquiry, knowledgeable of the great human heritage, sensitive to and respectful of the rights of all men, cognizant of man ' s spiritual nature, and prepared to assume productive roles in society. My hope is that could the history of the past year be adequately told it would reflect an intellectual involvement conducive to the attainment of such attributes. Sincerely, Dr. J. R. Crowley Student President ' s Message The Northerner highlighting the years 1964-65 with the memories it invokes both in pictures and inprosewill truly be a keepsake exemplifying the growth of 35 years. Time is flying, but so is Northern in the strides of progress. Both in academic and physical stature Northern surges forward as it serves its task of creating the future. The pride and the participation in the growth and future of Northern Montana Col- lege is illustrated in this excellent annual which supports the axiom that Northern is a college rising in stature keyed to the future.
