Since I an a flla and television production aajor, ay view of this University consist aalnly of photographs and graphics. I have tried to presont the photographs with as aware and objective an eye as the lens of the caaera taking It. Without a coapetent photography staff, this would not have been possible. I returned to the horizontal foraat to experlaent with and better its potential. The then of this book. If there 1 one, is student life. With the assistance of the copy-layout staffs, I picked key words froa WEBSTER’S SEVENTH NEW COLUCIATE DICTIONARY, and grouped what I thought would fit under these key words, which are: awareness, creativity, sensitivity, vitality, and Individuals. Under AWARENESS, (2: Having or showing relation, perception, or knowledge), I grouped student life and cultural affairs. Under CREATIVITY, (1: To bring Into existence 4a: To produce through ishaglnatlve skill), 1 grouped big naae entertatnacnt, theater, auslc. Instructional organizations and schools, student aass aedla. Rocky Mountain Collegiate Press Association and Forensics. Under SENSITIVITY, (2a: Receptive to sense lapresslons d: Capable of Indicating- alnute differences: delicate e: Readily affected or changed by various agents), photo essays and student Interviews were placed. Under VITALITY, (b: Capacity to live and develop; also physical and acntal vigor esp. when highly developed 2a: Power of enduring or continuing), were placed all sports, both alnor and aajor. Under INDIVIDUALS, (b: Being an Individual or existing as an Individual whole c: Intended for one person ): Existing as a distinct entity: separate), I placed the adslnlstrat Ion, student senate, organizations and Creeks, undcrclassacn and seniors. To those who have purchased A piece of Montana State University, and that Is what the MONTANAN YEARBOOK Is, need say not arise to look at It seriously for four or ten years. But as the years go by It will be nice to have something to look back at, which you can relate to your own experiences at this period In your life. For those who did not purchase a copy of this book, they have lost their chance to relive the past aeaorlcs In the photographs and copy, which does not fade little by little, day by day.
