division of letters 0 and S C ieno e Students find themselves engrossed in the observa- tions in Chem labs. The study of bacteriological sciences dictates many hours spent hovering over the microscope. For the first time in the history of Montana State College, the Division of Letters and Sciences had the largest enrollment of any division. The trend of our society to require more from pure science reflects the increasing strength of this division. Also the demand of our modern economy for a broad education is shown by the growth of the general studies curriculum which is now the big- gest in the division. Among the different phases of education offered to a student in Letters and Sciences are chemistry, zoology, botany, physics and mathematics. This broad field has a place for all students seeking a liberal and informative education. 7 E if. avl- M- U! Jew 0 fb., 5 0 U
