One of the seminars held during Religious Emphasis Week. Outside entertainment also came to MSC during the year. Mahalia Jackson, famed Gospel singer, sang at the fieldhouse, and the Harlem Clobe- trotters played one of basketballls World Seriesl' games at MSC. To some extracurricular participation means leadership, to others it is just helping on the Exponent or the F armer. Whatever the role played, committee member or presi- dent, the job done is an important one. Without these activities there would be no newspaper, no yearbook, or anything else that is associated with college life. Along with the parties and once-a-year events that come to a college, there are the jobs that are the same day in and day out, jobs that seem to be and are drudgery, but With- out them many of the things that are enjoyed by the stu- dents Would never come about. Dances would have no decorations, intramural sports would never be played, and student government would never function.
