FW L L Inside the Health 8a Physical Education Center This past year has represented a big step in progress. MSC is on the margin between a small college and a large college. The building program has been the largest and most noticeable change on our campus. The facilities of our Student Union addition are the most elaborate in Montana to say the least. The H 6t PE Center will bring events to this campus and to Bozeman that were never before possible as Well as providing the best of conditions for athletics and many other activities.

From the first 150 page annual, The Blue and Gold, which was presented to the students of Montana Agricultural College on May 1, 1907 to now, the annual has recorded pictures and stories of MSC's yearly progress from MAC to MSC, from a small agricultural college to the largest educational institution in Montana. if The title Montanian was used on the 1908 and 1909 and changed to Montanan in 1910, this name has been found on the cover of MSC,s annual since that year. I will try, in this Fiftieth Anniversary Edi- tion, to present this past year as accurately as possible, along with occasional glimpses into the growth of Montana State College.

With passing the three-thousand mark as history, we are looking forward, whether We like it or not, to the four- thousand mark. Dorms are filling and when a lot of us skip classes the coffee shop area is about full. One consolation is that we can look forward to elbow room in the H 6: PE Center for a few years at least. This past year exerted a few loud exclamations accredited to growing pains. The re-evaluation of Student Senate, the athletic discussion and several less noticeable controversies took place. MSC is on the verge of becoming a prominent American college. The country realized that Montana State could play football when our team traveled to Little Rock, Arkansas, and the Aluminum Bowl last December. Part of the Student Union Building Addition v.
