STUDENT FACULTY SOCIAL COMMITTEE Anyone who has tried to schedule forty parties into ten weekends realizes the terrific problems of the Social Committee. If students ask for permission to sponsor a dance or party on a week-night this committee either approves or disapproves of the request. They also have the unpleasant duty of suspending organizations for breaking rules and dealing with other infringements. Fir»r row: Dorrene Herreid, Ester Brown, Dorothy Larsen. Second row: Dick Curry, Jim Adamson, Vol Glynn, A. B. Oviott. STUDENT UNION BOARD Subology is an unusually popular course which is directed by the student and faculty members of the Student Union Board. Because of its increasing popularity, this active board is suggesting new uses for our SUB. In its 14th year as student activity center a recent poll was taken concerning proposed uses of our SUB. The students voted to support movies, dancing during coffee hours, and to build bowling alleys. First row: Mildred J. Leigh, Jessie Possmorc, Katherine Roy. Second row; Rolph Roscoc. Arnold Rohrcr, Hugo Eck, Choirman; Edwin Howard, Dennis Nelson. CURRICULA AND INSTRUCTION COMMITTEE To consider problems of higher education is the duty of this committee. They are also interested in working out a schedule which will eliminate Saturday classes. These are some of the questions being studied by this committee. First row: Marjorie Poisley. Martha L. Student Qaue'inment in Action One of the commanding forces at M.S.C. is the Student Senate. This is where the commissioners, representatives and campus citizens have their say in the functions of M.S.C. Because this group doles out the finances they are held in high regard. This organization controls the purse strings, thus determining all the spending of the moneys paid into the student activities fee. The fond memories of band, chorus, and sports trips are due to the financing of this group. They also have a hand in planning the assemblies and plays. These members terminate their relationship with a—picnic? spring quarter. 28
